In the District—For the District
DFDC was originally created in 2001 to fulfill a CMS requirement that a company must be local for automatic renewal of a contract without a competition process. Additionally, this company served to ease the DC city council’s philosophical concerns that District contracts should be with local businesses.
DFDC works in partnership with hospitals, physicians, nurses, government agencies and other stakeholders to improve the health status of Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries throughout the District. New collaborative relationships are unfolding on an ongoing basis as we bring our mission to additional settings such as nursing homes and home health agencies.
