Improving Health in the Communities We Serve

Delmarva Foundation has 35 years of experience with both the public and private sectors to create safe, effective, and efficient systems of care.

In 1973, a group of physicians from Maryland’s Eastern Shore incorporated Delmarva Foundation in response to federal legislation that established Professional Standards Review Organizations (PSROs). As forerunners to today’s Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) program, PSROs promoted the effective, efficient, and economical delivery of health-care services in Medicare and Medicaid programs.

Beginning as the designated PSRO for the Eastern Shore in 1974, Delmarva Foundation has gone on to oversee a variety of state-level and national projects that have contributed to our reputation as a national leader in health care quality improvement.
